Not in kiosk mode: the QR on the entrance screen changes every 30 seconds, so an old photo is rejected. For locations with a fixed QR we recommend enabling geofencing; if the employee is outside the area, the attempt is rejected. Every rejected attempt appears in the manager’s event log.
What happens without an internet connection?
Attendance is recorded on the server, so clocking in needs a connection at that moment. If there is none, the app says so clearly and retries once it’s back. If a record couldn’t be made, the employee can file a correction request with a reason for their manager to approve.
Is my employees’ location tracked all the time?
No. Location is captured once, only when the employee clocks in or out; there is no background tracking. Explicit consent is requested, and declining doesn’t block work (QR or kiosk can be used). Coordinates are deleted automatically when your retention period ends.
How do you handle night shifts that cross midnight?
Shifts such as 22:00–06:00 are fully supported; the hours count towards the day the shift started. Rotating patterns (e.g. three-shift rotations), public holiday work and daily or weekly overtime thresholds are all calculated automatically.
Can I export the timesheet to Excel?
Yes. Monthly timesheets, daily details and reports export to Excel with colour codes, totals and signature fields (Business and Enterprise plans). Once you lock a month the results are frozen, so the figures sent to payroll never change afterwards.
How does bulk SMS work and where do I buy credits?
Messages are sent through Netgsm using your own Netgsm account and your company’s approved sender name. You buy the package directly from Netgsm — WorkTally charges nothing extra for SMS. Your credentials are stored encrypted and you can test the connection and balance in settings.
Who owns my data? Can I export it?
Your company owns the data and is the data controller; WorkTally only acts as the processor. You can export timesheets and reports at any time, and download all of an employee’s data in one go for a KVKK request.
How do I cancel? Is there a commitment?
There is no commitment. You can switch plans or stop renewal whenever you like. If you close your company account, your data is kept for 30 days and then permanently deleted — you can export it during that time.
Is there a mobile app?
iOS and Android apps are coming to the stores very soon. Until then WorkTally works fully in any phone browser and can be added to the home screen like an app. Company sign-up and subscriptions are handled on the website.
Can I manage several companies with one account?
Yes. A single user account can belong to multiple companies and chooses one at sign-in. Each company’s data, settings, logo and subscription are kept completely separate.
